Yes, this is what we all desire. But spending most of the day at the workplace, loving our job shouldn't be a dream or a cliché. Biancalani Textile Machinery has believed in that dream until making it real. During an interview, Annette Balsters and Ivan Bellini, communication professional and accounting manager, respectively, explained how through two specific examples.

How did your work experience start? How far do you think you have come?

Annette: My journey in communication began during an internship in the aerospace sector in the United States. Having just graduated in Business Economics and Commerce in Germany, I found myself in the evolving world of communication. When Biancalani hired me, I had the opportunity to develop new skills in promotion for the textile machinery sector: a challenging and exciting task. I learned that listening and deeply understanding the industry is fundamental. Looking back, I can say with certainty that remaining adaptable and open to new opportunities has been essential for my professional growth.

Ivan: After graduating in Economics and Management, I spent ten years working in the fashion industry, but I wanted to specialize and also become a Controller. Everyone knows it's a rather complicated but necessary part in every sector, and if you want to be good, you need to specialize. When I started working at Biancalani, my task was to bring new skills while learning how things worked here. I really tried to learn without imposing my ideas. It worked. Now I have significant responsibilities and I need to organize everything carefully, but it's exactly what I wanted.

What does making a difference mean to you?

Annette: My role is to effectively communicate the value of our company, especially in a specialized sector like textile machinery. This is what truly makes a difference. I explore possibilities to make our work understandable to everyone. Doing it effectively requires a balance of creativity, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and empathy. And, above all, teamwork is essential. To succeed, you must see the big picture and truly understand the industry from every angle.

Ivan: Problem-solving is absolutely fundamental in my job, because many issues eventually reach our office. You have to be methodical and prepared to answer many questions or solve problems - although I must say that here at Biancalani there is an awareness in what we do that I haven't found elsewhere. Being able to read the numbers and understand how to improve them really makes a difference. I like doing things well thanks to my management skills, and no one can teach you that, you have to learn it yourself, through experience. And here at Biancalani I've been able to do that.
